I had an email very recently from my blogging engine 'Blogger' stating that they are stopping their 'FTP' service. I normally write my blogs on the Blogger site and publish them via 'FTP' to my own web host. There I can make them look pretty, optimise them and serve them from my own URL

My wine blog is so complex that the idea of hosting all of my blog files on Blogger (Google) servers instead of my own was not an option. So I set about writing some code to make my own blog engine, which is now complete.

For those amongst you who do not have a clue about all of this technical speak, then all you need to know is that my blog now has a different look and feel as it is home-brew, so not only written, but now actually coded by me too.

All of the previous 'permalinks' are the same, so if you have bookmarked anything you will still find it.

I am working on the look and feel, so any suggestions welcome. I suppose it remains for me to say to you 'Mr Blogger'-

'so long and thanks for all the fish'.
